How learnings from traditional Auto Industry made me better in FAANG environment
Ishikawa diagram, 5WHY analysis, QC, AQ, MBQ- If you have ever worked in an automotive company, you probably know what I am talking about
My 7 year stint at a process-driven auto company could not be more different than my current work at a FAANG company. However, the concepts I learnt in a machine driven environment have made me a better resource at multiple levels and gave me all of these:

a) Structured thinking:
Auto Industry employs lot of Japanese concepts which are logic driven and help with analysis of cause-effect relationship objectively. Two of my absolute favourite concepts are Cause and Effect diagram or Ishikawa diagram. Not only does it let you state the problem clearly, it helps the group to work together and ideate all the possible causes and then arrive at root causes.
Of course, it is relevant for production processes and quality control, but I have found it useful even when I need to analyse business problems- like why did the campaign not perform that well for a client or why are CPA’ s rising on platform. It is a great tool for structured thinking
